Hey loves!

A few months ago, protests against racism happened around the globe. One of the things which activists asked others, especially white people, to do was to educate themselves on racism and how they are contributing to the issue and what they could do to actively help fight racism. At the time, I was sitting my final exams of the year at Cambridge from my bedroom thanks to the pandemic and so I knew that I would not get to read these books right then, but I took screenshots of the book recommendations...

Trigger Warning: Sexual Harassment

Hey loves!

Honestly, there is no great way to open this post. The only thing that does come to mind is that I should never have to write a post like this. And I wish it would not be the case that so many people can relate to my experience, but I know that the unfortunate truth is that many people have had similar experiences online.

Before I talk about my thoughts, here is a selection of messages I received through the contact form of my blog (messages may have been shortened...

Hey loves!

Wearing masks to reduce the spread of the coronavirus is the new normal and I honestly struggle to remember what it was like to leave the house without a mask covering my nose and mouth. The only small issue I have with wearing a mask everyday is that it has not exactly been kind on my skin. Luckily, I did not get any big outbreaks of acne from wearing a mask, but it has dried out my skin quite a lot. So I went on a little googling journey to figure out what I could do against that and these two pr...

Hey loves!

In less than 24 hours, my cousin and I will be on our way to Regensburg. If you are unsure how I ended up in Regensburg all the way from Cambridge, I explained it all in this video:

I am happy to go on my year abroad, but there is of course also - as always - a bit of fear and due to the entire world being in a new normal, a lot of uncertainty. Moving into a dormitory where I will likely have to share a kitchen and bathroom with other students is definitely a cause of concern for me, but I am also ex...

Hey loves!

This Wednesday, I got the afternoon off from my internship and so I used that time to visit my favourite series of paintings. Is it weird to have a favourite series of paintings? Maybe. But this series has been my favourite since I was in primary school. We visited the museum on a school trip and I remember standing in front of one of the paintings in the series and just being fascinated. It was this one:

This painting is called The Doom Fulfilled by Edward Burne-Jones. It shows Perseus freeing Andr...

Hey loves!

Sometimes, the villain of a story is the character that fascinates me the most. In most children stories, the villain tends to be written as merely evil without a backstory. It makes the villain the embodiment of evil and since thee is no explanation for their character, they are easy to hate. But some stories are not afraid of giving the villain a little more character and to show different sides of them. Other stories focus entirely on the villains' backstories. In this post, I would like to shar...

Hey loves!

Although I knew that it had been a while since I posted on my political commentary channel, I only realised that it had been almost five months when I logged back into the account to upload my new video. A lot of time had passed not because I had no ideas for videos or because I did not want to make these videos, but rather because I had been a little scared of posting content on that channel.

Let me explain: When you are a content creator online (or, as it is often called, an "influencer"), one of...

Hey loves!

Quite a while ago back when I had around ten thousand subscribers on YouTube, I had a chat with a few friends about my YouTube channel. I mentioned how I was still a little embarrassed about the fact that I had a channel, but one of my friends told me not to worry about it because I 'have enough subscribers to make it cool.' And that sentence got me thinking - and I guess the fact that I am still thinking about it months after this was said in passing says a lot about my overthinking.

Back to the po...

Hey loves!

Did you ever feel like you just do not belong into that room? Like everyone else is so much smarter than you? Like you have nothing to contribute that is worth listening to? Kind of like you cheated your way in there because people seem to think that you are smarter than you are?

We all get that feeling sometimes - hello, imposter syndrome. The most trust-worthy source on the internet, Wikipedia, defines imposter syndrome like this (I hope you read the first part of this sentence with sarcasm):

Hey loves!

"Staycation" is the new motto of the holiday season. My family and I will not be going away at all this summer, but books, movies, and TV shows are great places to escape to for a little bit here and there. Some books and movies have literally made me forget the world around me for a short while.

Sometimes, the end of a movie/TV show or book may be the end, but it does not feel like the end for a character. Do you sometimes wonder how they are doing after this short glimpse you got into their l...
