Hey loves!

My cousin and I left Hong Kong a few hours ago and I am writing this post on our plane to Helsinki from where we will be flying back to Germany. Although I absolutely love traveling and exploring new places, the actual act of getting from A to B is usually time-consuming, annoying, and filled with carrying lots of heavy stuff you already regret bringing. Somehow, our travel yesterday was none of that. We managed to get on a complimentary shuttle bus to an in-town check-in place (yes, you can actuall...

Hey loves!

When my mother booked my flight to Hong Kong, the extradition bill had not even been put forward and there was no reason to believe that I would end up in Hong Kong while some of its biggest protests would take place. By the time I boarded my flight, the controversial bill had been put forward and people had already started protesting against it. Since I have been here, the amount of protests per week has increased and the police and protestors have clashed more and more often. Yesterday, thousands...

Hey loves!

I was initially planning to publish a blog post about a book I read, but publishing this post now simply did not feel right. My cousin and I travelled to Hong Kong together last week and we are planning to spend a few weeks here as a summer vacation. As many of you know, I went to a boarding school in Hong Kong from 2016 to 2018 and I became very attached to the city. I have made some of the strongest friendships while I lived here, grew up a lot (though unfortunately not in physical size), learned...

Hey loves!

When I got my offer for a place at Li Po Chun United World College in Hong Kong at age 16, I was thrilled and absolutely sure that I wanted to accept the offer. As many of you guys know, I did in fact accept the offer and flew off to Hong Kong in September 2016. I spent two years at LPC and graduated with a Harvard Book Award in May 2018. My time in Hong Kong was incredible and I would definitely make the same decision again.

But I would be lying if I told you that it was always easy. That I didn't...

Hey loves!

Over the past few days, I explored Edinburgh with a friend of mine. We decided to leave Cambridge for a few days before starting our revision for our final exams. It was definitely good for us to leave our College for a while because whenever you are in College, it feels like you should be studying and this makes it hard to take a break from working. We had no idea what to expect from Edinburgh, but after having been there, I would highly recommend it as a travel destination!

If you would like to ex...

Hey loves

Today is the first day of a new year and I went through my photo library this morning to reflect on 2018. Since I am almost never further than a few metres away from one of my cameras, my photo library is like my diary. If I ever want to find out where I was on particular day, there is a good chance I recorded something of that day in my photos. I love looking back at my pictures because they remind me of how some people's smile looked, the jokes that caused their smiles, and all the moments we share...

Hey loves!

I got back from Paris last week and I went through all the pictures I took while in Paris over this weekend. Paris is my favourite city and I always discover something new about the city whenever I am there. I went to Paris with my two aunts and we went on an ice cream parlour tour, visited the Game of Thrones exhibition, walked around the streets of Paris, and visited several art exhibitions and installations. I put together a little video that summarises our travel:

We went to an art installation...

Hello everyone!

Two weeks ago, I visited Yale-NUS in Singapore. The college invites all their admitted students for a weekend to Singapore to get to know each other and see the college. Many of the people who I met during NYU Abu Dhabi's candidate weekend were there and I was glad to see so many of them again. I had been to Singapore a few years back and I was excited to go back.

During the weekend, we visited Yale-NUS College's campus, drove around Singapore, and had a lot of time to talk to the current stude...

Hey loves!

I returned to Hong Kong on Monday morning after a short trip to Abu Dhabi. I was originally planning to fully participate in my theatre project about the LGBTQIA+ community in Hong Kong but NYU Abu Dhabi invited me to join them for their candidate weekend in Abu Dhabi. When applying to NYU, I did not really believe that I would make it to the candidate weekend due to the university's large applicant pool which is why I was quite surprised when I got the invitation.

I spent four days in Abu Dhabi (Th...

Hey loves!

This Wednesday, all LPCUWC students left campus to enjoy their block activities. My block went to the Tai Mai Tuk reservoir in Hong Kong where we went cycling. We had bicycles for three and four people and it was a lot of fun to ride them. My roommates and I went on a bike together and although we definitely lacked talent for the bike, we enjoyed ourselves a lot. We cycled along a dam and the view there is incredible!

We cycled along the dam once and then we sat down in front of where some small...
