Fashion is so much more than just the things we wear on a daily basis. Fashion is an opportunity to transform into someone totally different or to show who you want to be. Fashion can be basic, futuristic, scary, practical, elegant... There are pieces of clothing that are better described as art than as fashion. When art is turned into fashion, something beautiful is created. It can be exciting to see it and to explore the concepts behind it.

The Hong Kong Heritage Museum is currently hosting the exhibition "Fashion + Paper, Scissors and Rock". The exhibition is a collection of different fashion designs that were created in cooperation with local craftsmen. The exhibition tries to show the value of local craftsmen and wants to show how the traditional side of Hong Kong can be integrated into fashion. The exhibition is open until February 6, 2017.

The exhibition is quite small, but it is definitely worth going. If you are into fashion or art, this exhibition is a must! The exhibition is accompanied by videos that cover the creation of the fashion designs and that show how the designers integrated the work of local craftsmen into their work. The exhibition shows some new and interesting designs that you don't see normally and it is inspiring to go there. The exhibition itself was also designed in an extraordinary way. Every dress had its own background and whenever you looked at one dress, it was like being in a little world that only belonged to this particular dress.
